Envisioning a Collaborative, Cincinnati

On Saturday, June 25th, 2016, nearly 600 people gathered at Xavier University’s Cintas Center for the first Cincinnati Child Poverty Collaborative Summit. At the event, small group discussions inspired community members and leaders to share their perspectives on the issues impacting the 33,000 children living in poverty throughout Cincinnati.

Listening carefully to the discussions held at my table and those shared throughout the room during mini “open mic” sessions, I created the spoken-word poem you see above. I designed the poem with an image taken at the event, where you can see the huge room was filled with community supporters.
